Ecoglo's superior brightness ensures safe passage for patrons, and saves on energy costs compared to alternative lighting systems

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (March 27, 2009) " Haunted houses and haunting indoor attractions are supposed to be dark and scary, but they also should provide safe passage for visitors coming and going.

And that's the attraction of Ecoglo, the latest in emergency and path-finding photoluminescent systems, which is appearing at the 14th National Haunt & Attractions Show March 27-29 in St. Louis. Ecoglo can be found at booth #228 in the America's Center.

"We're very excited about our line of Ecoglo products because they have very specific applications for the haunt and attractions industries," said David Murray, vice president of sales and marketing for Access Products, Inc., the Buffalo, N.Y.-based firm that manufactures and distributes Ecoglo products in North America.

"The haunt and attractions industries do a fabulous job of entertaining and delighting their visitors, but a completely enjoyable experience should also include safe passage into and out of their attractions," Murray said. "The goal is to avoid accidental slips, trips and falls."

"Traditional lighting is fine as long as the power source is working, but what happens when it fails?" he added.

That's where Ecoglo systems come in because Ecoglo does not require additional electricity while emitting a steady, highly visible green glow that safely guides people in stairwells and aisles in any type of facility.

And the technology supporting Ecoglo is environmentally friendly, saving greatly on energy costs compared to traditional power-supplied emergency lighting systems.

"The principles behind Ecoglo's patented 'green' technology are really very simple," Murray said. "The active photoluminescent element absorbs natural or artificial light and then re-emits the light to quickly guide people to safety under any conditions." Ecoglo products are non-radioactive and non-toxic.

Murray explained that unlike some competitors' products, "The technology supporting Ecoglo was not adapted from novelty items or signage. Our Ecoglo products are built with a high-grade metal base and the high-visibility photoluminescent strip is bonded to the metal at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for long-lasting durability. They are designed to be walked on, even the signs."

Ecoglo's built-in photoluminescent strips quickly become charged and will continue to glow in the event of a power outage until all the absorbed energy is exhausted. Ecoglo's high brightness design ensures that it will be visible to people in any type of building for hours following a blackout, allowing sufficient time for egress.

As for cost, Murray pointed out, "There are many issues associated with using the traditional form of stairway or aisle egress lighting. It becomes costly to not only run these lights all day, but to also pay the high costs of regular maintenance."

Access Products, Inc.'s Ecoglo systems currently are installed in stadiums, arenas, performing art centers and movie theatres in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the U.S. Ecoglo has been installed at numerous
